Neck adjustments and cracking can tear vertebral arteries leading to the brain, resulting in a stroke. Researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, found patients younger than 60 who had strokes from vertebral artery tears were six times more likely to have had spinal manipulative therapy in the 30 days before.
