How to Work Your Abs Without Your Neck Hurting?

If your neck hurts when you do abs, then I know you will find today’s post quite useful.
Many times, new clients comment how they find abdominal exercises

[ and sometimes even their core workout ] ineffective due to their neck pain.

The first thing you need to establish is how strong your abdominal muscles are in relation to your back muscles.

Once you establish that then you need to determine if your posture is suitable to effectively work your abs with the exercises you want.
Rule of thumb is, ” if you feel you have forward head Or rounded shoulders, you should spend more time working on mid-back muscles as well as obliques muscles.”

The next thing for you to attempt is to work your abdominal muscles in various prone [ face down] positions.

Only when you feel you have mastered this you should “test” your true abdominal strength without compromising your neck by completing the Partial Sit-Up Test.
